Tanzania Mitindo House (TMH) is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with ,a main purpose of using the fashion Industry to reach out to the community through charity work. Our Charity campaigns "Tanzanian Designs for Life and Corporate Cares," gives vulnaerable Tanzanian Children, especially orphans infected by HIV/AIDS, better and healthier lives. Our goal is to improve their quality of life by ensuring their access to education, affordable housing, nutrition and medical service.
The NGO has founder members from the fashion industry as well as an executive committee comprising of Mr. Richard Kasesela, Mr. Ruge Mutabaha, Jaaquine De Mello, Mr. Daniel Kiondo and Sauda samba. There are currently 33 Tanzanian fashion designers, models and beauty queens supporting the organization.
Purpose.
Tanzania Mitindo House (TMH) is a Non-government organization whose main purpose is to give vulnerable Tanzanian children, particularly those affected by HIV/AIDS a better quality and healthy life.
Approach.
Established in April 2007 by a Tanzanian Fashion Designer, Khadija Mwanamboka, TMH utilizes the fashion industry to generate awareness through community events whilst also using innovative ways of fundraising to support orphan and vulnerable children in Dar es Salaam.
Through a campaign dubbed: Tanzanian Designs for Life, TMH strives to use a high profile, creative industry to generate awareness and income for the lives of vulnerable children whilst giving Tanzanian Fashion Designers a platform.
