Experts discuss minerals on Africa’s economy

The Deputy Minister for Energy and Minerals Adam Malima, has led the today’s morning session of the 16th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts in Dar es Salaam, for the purpose of finding out the importance of the mineral resources to the economy of the continent.
As the maini speaker in the meeting,Malima stressed the importance of mining
sector to contribute to the Africa economy, as saying it is a sense
of humanity for the big companies of mining to invest part of profits
into the community social responsibly welfare, such building schools and
health centres in areas where mining activities are conducted.
Speaking of the small scale mining conducted by small scale miners, Mr Malima said that the type of mining is dangerous for the environment and on the other hand there is no profit of such a business to those who do it.
The experts focussed on the topic of harnessing the African peer
review to advance minerals resources in the Africa continent.
