Vodacom M-Pesa transaction fees now down by 75%
While rising the airtime bonus on M-Pesa top up to 25%, the Tanzania’s leading cellular network Vodacom, has introduced at a go 4 new offers for its customers.


Mpesa customers will now be charged from a minimum fee of 50 T. shillings
when making a transaction which culminates to a total of 75%
reduction. In the same instance, Vodacom has also upgraded the airtime
bonus upon recharging airtime through Mpesa from the current 10% to
25%.
In the Press Release issued introducing the new offers the managing
Director of Vodacom Tanzania Mr. Rene Meza said ‘we understand how
crucial Mpesa has become in the daily lives of Tanzanians, so it is
critical for us to provide offers that resonate with their usage and
to make it easy and affordable for them’. ‘This is our key focus this
year and beyond.’ emphasized Mr. Meza.
Another offer introduced by Vodacom Tanzania today is the ability for
Mpesa users to now send as little as 500 shillings on Mpesa. Mr. Meza
explained the Rationale for this is to ensure that any Tanzanian no
matter their economic situation can benefit with Mpesa.
However, despite all the exciting offers above, Vodacom has also
launched today a mini promotion where Mpesa users upon transacting,
stand a chance to win cash prizes, with 480 million Tanzanian
shillings to be won in total.
In this promotion, 100 people will stand a chance to win 50,000
shillings everyday while in a monthly draw one stands a chance to win
a grand price of 10 million shillings in a period of 90 days.
